DreamWorks Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale is an interactive movie released by Netflix on June 20, 2017. Trapped in a fairy tale book, Puss defends himself from the revenge of Fartholomew Fishflinger

Description[]

While out fighting off thieves, Puss stumbles on a fairy tale book. When he opens it, a brand-new adventure begins for Puss, as he travels through the book's pages.

Plot[]

An interactive new short, available on Netflix, it requires the user to control the story of Puss in Boots. At the start, the instructions tell the user to choose either the left or right directional buttons on a generic game pad. Something fun for kids, especially, but adults may be intrigued as well.

During the course of the story, the user has two choices every few minutes to continue the story. There are around 10 or 11 choices the user can make. Ultimately, the goal is to help Puss in Boots escape the fairy tale book in which he is trapped.

The events are set in season 4.

Trivia[]

  • Antonio Banderas does not voice the much loved famous feline in this adventure.
  • There's a version of the short without the gamebook-styled elements.
  • This is the only Puss in Boots episode where the viewers watching the show have a remote control choosing any ideas controlling the story, confirming on how Puss would travel through the book (for example, one of the ideas is Puss kissing Snow White/Senora Zapata to wake her up). It doesn't matter how it goes or how long it lasts, they can always rewind, replay, restart, and choose what each choice is about. This episode could almost never end if viewers want to keep it going forever.
  • Goldilocks and the three bears are featured in this story, but are not affiliated with the characters from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
    • They also are not portrayed by any characters from the Netflix series themselves, unlike characters like Snow White (Portrayed by Señora Zapata).
    • Unlike the Three Bears Crime Family. The bears revealed to have real names if the reader picks "Bears Are Friends"
      • Samuel T. Bearinger - The Papa Bear
      • Gladys - The Mama Bear
      • Sam Jr. - The Baby Bear
  • This interactive has two endings.
    • Ending #1 - Will be free and forced out of the book but Puss will never find out about the evil queen and good Queen or the narrator.
    • Ending #2 - Will finally meet the Evil Queen and Good Queen and as it continues the narrator is revealed to be Fartholomew Fishflinger. After Puss gets out Artephius will randomly appear and he will be the one to be stuck in the book.
  • It is unknown if the interactive is canon or not.
  • This interactive pokes fun on how the tv series regularly recycles and reuses old characters and how it has budget limitations.
    • Alessandra appeared in the interactive movie in a silent cameo, possibly due to budget limitations.
  • Strangely, this interactive movie is currently removed by Netflix for unknown reasons.
