Imelda is Puss' surrogate mother. She appeared in Puss in Boots and in a cameo in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
Appearance[]
She is a large, round woman with black hair worn in a bun. She wears a white floral dress with a long red apron skirt.
In Puss in Boots: The Last Wish she was redesigned to be slimmer with slightly alternate floral details.
Personality[]
Imelda (as puss said) was an Angel of Kindess (most of the time) as she always takes in any orphans who find their way into her orphanage into her heart and raise them as her own. She was a loving mother to all of her kids but can be firm in order to discipline them, She always wanted the best for both Humpty and Puss but she doesn't like the fact they started stealing. Despite this she still has faith in her children and always tries to see the best in them. After Puss was deemed a hero and was tricked by Humpty to be a getaway driver she was heartbroken, incorrectly believing Puss had returned to his thieving ways. After puss returned home she begged him to surrender, wanting him to face his past. Upon seeing how Puss saved San Ricardo from the Great Terror, she realized how much Puss has changed and was proud of him. When Puss came to her in person to apologize for what happened years ago, she whole-heartedly forgave him and the two hugged, showing how affectionate she is and how much she loves Puss.

When Puss is telling Kitty about the history of Humpty, It said that Imelda had taken him in when he was a kitten who arrived in a basket. She was trying to get the kids' attention (she had to yell to get the kids' attention). When she got their attention, she introduced them to Puss (who just mewed). She came back in the part when an orphan had caught them stealing something. She told them that she had "believed in them with all her heart", After Puss was deemed a hero and was tricked by Humpty to be a getaway driver she was heartbroken to see Puss went back to stealing after puss returned home she begged him to surrender. Upon seeing how Puss saved San Ricardo from the Great Terror, she realized how much Puss has changed and was proud of him. When Puss came to her in person to apologize for what happened years ago, she lovely forgave him and the two hugged, showing how much she loves Puss.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish[]
She appears in the two flashbacks Puss has of his lives, giving him his trademark boots.
